Janelle Klaas, Marriage & Family Therapist
Location
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, all services are provided via telehealth at this time and for the foreseeable future. I use a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform, Google Meet, for all appointments. My experience is that most clients find it possible to experience the full benefits of therapy via telehealth and appreciate the convenience of logging on from home.
I am licensed to practice psychotherapy throughout the state of California and welcome clients from anywhere in the state. In the future, services may be offered in person in San Francisco. I am also licensed in Pennsylvania. Please contact me directly regarding services rendered in other states; this can be offered on a case by case basis due to changes related to the pandemic.
Insurance & fees
All services are out of network. Treatment of DSM-5 mental health diagnoses may be reimbursable by insurance at out of network rates; documentation of sessions and costs can be provided on a monthly basis if needed. During the pandemic, payment is preferably made online via Zelle or Ivy Pay and is due upon delivery of services. Sessions are weekly at a consistent day and time unless otherwise negotiated.
Rates for services:
$220 per 50-minute individual, family, or couple session
$330 per 75-minute individual, family, or couple session
Good Faith Estimates
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.
You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
